
🇵🇹 Portuguese Favas (Fava Bean Stew)
🍳 Method
- Sauté the Aromatics Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until golden and fragrant.
- Build the Sauce Stir in red pepper flakes, tomato sauce, hot water, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
- Add the Fava Beans Gently stir in the fava beans. Simmer for another 5–10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Rest and Serve Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes. Serve warm with crusty bread or over rice.
