- SautƩ aromatics: Heat olive oil in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add onions and garlic, and cook until golden brown.
- Build the base: Stir in red pepper flakes, tomato sauce, hot water, parsley, salt, pepper, and paprika. Bring to a boil.
- Simmer: Reduce heat and let the sauce simmer for 30 minutes to develop flavor.
- Add beans: Gently stir in the fava beans. Remove from heat and let stand for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
