  1. Make the Marinade In a small bowl, mix cumin, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic, lemon juice, and yogurt.
  2. Layer in the Slow Cooker Place sliced onions and chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Pour the marinade over and stir to coat evenly.
  3. Cook Low and Slow Cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and infused with flavor.
  4. Finish with a Broil (Optional but Recommended) Transfer cooked chicken and onions to a baking sheet. Shred the chicken and spread it out. Broil for 3–5 minutes until edges crisp up slightly.
  5. Serve Serve in pita bread with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and a drizzle of yogurt or tahini sauce.
