
🍗 Slow Cooker Shawarma Chicken
🍳 Method
- Make the Marinade In a small bowl, mix cumin, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, salt, pepper, cayenne, garlic, lemon juice, and yogurt.
- Layer in the Slow Cooker Place sliced onions and chicken thighs in the slow cooker. Pour the marinade over and stir to coat evenly.
- Cook Low and Slow Cook on low for 7–8 hours or high for 3–4 hours, until chicken is tender and infused with flavor.
- Finish with a Broil (Optional but Recommended) Transfer cooked chicken and onions to a baking sheet. Shred the chicken and spread it out. Broil for 3–5 minutes until edges crisp up slightly.
- Serve Serve in pita bread with lettuce, tomato, cucumber, red onion, and a drizzle of yogurt or tahini sauce.
