For the cakes

3/4 cup (150 g) granulated sugar

1/3 cup (80 ml) hot coffee (or hot water for milder flavor)

4 oz (115 g) semi-sweet chocolate (chopped)
1/2 cup (120 ml) heavy cream
1 tbsp butter (optional, for shine)
