Ingredients:
- 4½ lbs chuck roast, cut into chunks
- 2 tbsp crushed red pepper
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 bunch parsley
- 8 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ tsp allspice berries
- 4 whole cloves
- 3 tbsp lard or butter
- 2 cups hearty red wine
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- ½ tsp ground cinnamon
- Salt to taste
