🥩 Ingredients

  • 1 kg (2.2 lbs) beef chuck, cut into large cubes
  • 150 g bacon lardons
  • 2 carrots, sliced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 500 ml red wine (preferably Burgundy or Pinot Noir)
  • 500 ml beef stock
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 200 g mushrooms, halved
  • 200 g pearl onions or small shallots
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil and butter for cooking
