    • Add remaining sugar, salt, and oil. Stir in flour one cup at a time until dough pulls away from the bowl but remains slightly sticky.
  3. Knead
    • Knead for 7 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled.
  4. Shape and rise again
    • Punch down dough, divide in half, and shape into loaves. Place in greased 9×5-inch pans. Let rise for 30 minutes.
  5. Bake
    • Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30–40 minutes until golden. Brush tops with butter while warm.
