🍞 Biscuits and Gravy
🧂 Ingredients:
For the Biscuits:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp baking soda
-
1 tsp salt
-
½ cup (1 stick) cold butter, cubed

¾ cup cold buttermilk (or regular milk with 1 tsp vinegar)
For the Sausage Gravy:

½ lb (225g) breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)

2 tbsp butter (if needed)

2 tbsp all-purpose flour
-
2 cups milk
-
Salt & black pepper to taste
👨🍳 Method:
🔸 Make the Biscuits:

Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).

In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Cut in the cold butter using a fork or your fingers until crumbly.

Add buttermilk and mix just until combined.

Turn dough onto a floured surface and fold a few times. Flatten to 1-inch thick.

Cut into rounds and bake for 12–15 minutes until golden.
🔸 Make the Gravy:

In a skillet, cook sausage until browned. Do not drain the fat unless excessive.

Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute.

Slowly add milk, stirring constantly until thickened (about 5–7 minutes).

Season with salt and a lot of black pepper (to taste).
