
Maple Waffle Chicken Nuggets
🔥 Method
- Make the batter:
- Beat egg yolks and set aside.
- Whip egg whites until stiff peaks form.
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- In another bowl, combine vegetable oil, milk, egg yolks, vanilla, and maple syrup.
- Pour wet ingredients into dry and stir until just combined.
- Gently fold in whipped egg whites — don’t overmix!
- Prep the chicken:
- Lightly dust chicken pieces with flour.
- Dip each piece into the waffle batter, letting excess drip off.
- Fry:
- Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high.
- Fry nuggets in batches for about 4 minutes, flipping once, until golden and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels.
- Make the dip:
- Mix honey, maple syrup, and honey mustard in equal parts.
