Prepare the Filling:

In a pan, melt butter and sauté onion and garlic until soft.

Use shortcrust pastry or make a hot water crust (flour, lard, hot water).

Roll out dough and cut into circles for base and lids.

Assemble the Pies:

Cover with a lid, seal edges, and poke a small hole in the top for steam.

Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.

Bake:

Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F).

Bake pies for 30–40 minutes until golden brown.
