Moroccan Meatballs (Meatball Tagine)

🧂 Ingredients

For the meatballs:

  • 500g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely grated
  • 3 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 3 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Optional: ¼ tsp turmeric or cinnamon for extra depth

For the tomato sauce:

  • 4 ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped (or grated)
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili pepper or cayenne for heat
  • Optional: 2–3 eggs for poaching
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
