
Puerto Rican Carne Guisada
🍲 Instructions
- Brown the beef Heat olive oil in a large pot. Season beef with salt and pepper, then brown on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- Sauté aromatics In the same pot, add onion, bell pepper, and garlic. Cook until softened. Stir in cumin, oregano, Sazón, and tomato paste.
- Build the stew Return beef to the pot. Add tomato sauce, broth, bay leaf, and potatoes. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer covered for 1.5–2 hours until beef is tender and sauce is thick.
- Finish and serve Taste and adjust seasoning. Garnish with cilantro if desired. Serve hot over rice or with crusty bread.
