Sautéed Collard Greens with Garlic and Lemon
🍳 Instructions
- Prep the greens Wash the collard greens thoroughly. Remove tough stems and slice the leaves into thin ribbons.
- Sauté garlic Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add sliced garlic and cook until fragrant and lightly golden—about 1 minute.
- Add collard greens Toss in the greens and stir to coat with the garlic oil. Sauté for 5–7 minutes until wilted and tender. Add a splash of water if needed to help them steam.
- Finish with lemon Turn off the heat. Squeeze in fresh lemon juice and season with salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Add lemon zest for extra brightness.
- Serve warm Perfect alongside grilled meats, roasted vegetables, or as a light lunch with crusty bread.
