
Smothered Pork Chops
🍳 Instructions
- Season and dredge Pat pork chops dry. Season with salt and pepper. Dredge lightly in flour, shaking off excess.
- Brown the chops Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown pork chops on both sides (about 3–4 minutes per side). Remove and set aside.
- Make the gravy In the same skillet, add onions and cook until soft and golden. Add garlic and cook for 1 minute. Stir in 2 tbsp flour and cook for 2 minutes to form a roux.
- Add liquid and simmer Slowly whisk in chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, paprika, and thyme. Bring to a simmer. Add cream if using.
- Smother and cook Return pork chops to the skillet. Cover and simmer on low for 30–40 minutes until chops are tender and gravy is thick.
- Serve hot Spoon gravy over chops and serve with mashed potatoes, rice, or cornbread.
