Turnip Greens with Ham

🔥 Instructions:

  1. Prep the Greens Rinse greens thoroughly to remove grit. Trim tough stems and chop into manageable pieces.
  2. Simmer the Ham In a large pot, add ham hocks (or diced ham), onion, garlic, and broth. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until ham is tender and flavors meld.
  3. Add the Greens Stir in turnip greens a handful at a time, letting them wilt. Add red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Simmer uncovered for 30–40 minutes, until greens are tender.
  4. Finish and Serve Taste and adjust seasoning. Add a splash of vinegar for a tangy kick. Serve hot with cornbread or rice—and don’t forget the “pot liquor” (the flavorful broth)!
